Problems
• late diagnosis and inadequate treatment of rare diseases
• lack of sufficient number of specialist doctors locally
• small number of practically significant clinical studies
Decision
The creation of private medical highly specialized online centers will improve the quality of medical care and clinical research of rare diseases
With the methodological support of specialists, it will allow to bypass bureaucratic barriers and without administrative decisions from upstairs:
To combine on an online platform the competencies of physician-researchers specializing in a particular nosology
To ensure effective communication of "researcher-patient", without territorial, time or financial constraints
To provide the synergy of medical researchers, data-driven specialists and mathematicians for the effective solution of scientific and practical problems

Celiac disease a rare (1%) multi-organ autoimmune disease that affects
the intestinal mucosa of genetically predisposed people.
The lesion occurs when eating foods containing gluten.
A complication of celiac disease leads to fatal T-cell lymphoma.

more about coeliakia

In 2021, Well Engineering initiated the celiac disease center's online platform. The first introduction is planned in developing countries where celiac disease is the least studied.). The first step is to develop a medical register of gluten-associated diseases.

The first register was launched at the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov (St. Petersburg).

There are dozens of celiac disease research centers around the world.
The greatest contribution to clinical studies and updating the theoretical base is made by the centers:

Chicago Medical University
Columbia University
Harvard Medical School

In advanced country, studies on gluten-associated diseases are not conducted systematically, which is due to financial and bureaucratic constraints. The Val Engineering's targeted approach overcomes socio-economic barriers to the creation of a scientific and practical platform for research work.

Development of a celiac disease registry

In May 2022, Well Engineering completed software development and implemented the first version of the gluten-associated diseases register at the clinical base of the North-West State Medical University n.a. I.I. Mechnikov (Saint Petersburg)

Development of an online Celiac Disease center platform
The platform will provide a flexible set of tools that allows the research physician to: The platform will provide a flexible set of tools that allows the research physician to:
• Enroll patients with gluten-associated diseases to the registry

• Perform online patient questionnairesy

• Receive online results of laboratory tests and hardware diagnostics performed by patients within the framework of registry studies

• Process registry data as part of their own clinical studies in their personal office

• Conduct online patient counseling

• Exchange opinions online with other specialists connected to the platform
To the patient: To the patient:
• Use recommended medical calculators and questionnaires for prevention of comorbidities and related conditions

• Consult with a specialist online

• Search for scientific data on celiac disease
Other users: Other users:
• Check yourself for symptoms of celiac disease

• Learn about current diagnostic schemes for celiac disease

• Get all the relevant information on gluten-associated diseases

• Provide financial support to the project
Readiness stage - under approval
Launch of the service
online consulting

The service will improve the quality of medical care by providing a constant connection of the patient with specialized celiac disease research doctors.

The service will allow consultants to transfer donations, which will be a significant incentive for doctors to research celiac disease and connect to the online center.

An additional incentive to connect doctors to the platform is to increase the client base of patients in their region.

WE HELP TO SOLVE PRACTICALLY SIGNIFICANT TASKS:

• to consolidate clinical data on a single platform in order to implement big data technology;

• to form a database of patients for clinical trials;

• to provide an additional source of income for physicians researching celiac disease.
